We are recruiting for Class 1 night drivers. These are full time positions with an immediate start date.

 

Class 1 wage

  • £30,000 basic Night Driver

Additional weekly bonuses

  • Moffett delivery bonus £20pd
  • Long service bonus £15pw

Title Transport Planner
Salary £20,000.00 to £25,000.00 /year. Base Salary depending on applicable skill set and experience.

Job Information

We are currently looking to recruit a Transport Planner to join our busy transport office. You will be able to demonstrate experience of transport operations and have a great geographical knowledge of the UK. The ideal candidate will have significant, prior experience of working in a busy transport office, or have significant experience of operating fleet vehicles.

We are searching for an excellent team player, with a CPC certificate in National and International Road Haulage operations (or a desire to learn) and a sound knowledge of transport legislation.

The new recruit will report to the Operations Manager, based at our premises at Preston Brook, Runcorn. The individual will join the transport team which includes around 30 drivers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To plan the daily workload for our fleet, maximising vehicle utilisation whilst serving our customers to the high standard that we expect
  • Be fully conversant with the working practices and procedures of a general haulage operation
  • To develop good working relationships using clear communication skills with both the drivers and office team members
  • Be fully conversant with road transport law and ensure that the vehicles and drivers are 100% compliant.
  • Continue to uphold our green/green OCRS score
  • Organise and control the allocation of vehicles, to achieve weekly targets
  • Supporting the team to ensure the smooth running of the overall transport operation
  • Record and update information as appropriate
  • Ensure vehicles and trailers are presented to the 3rd party workshops in accordance with service schedules

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Possess the ability to pro-actively plan ahead and work on your own initiative
  • An up to date knowledge of WTD, tachographs and related legislation
  • An up to date knowledge of H&S requirements
  • Excellent customer service and influencing skills
  • Experience of leading a team of drivers
  • Great communication skills
  • A ‘can-do,’ positive, forward thinking attitude
  • Computer literate
  • Experience of using transport management systems
  • Strong people management skills
  • A National CPC (desirable but not essential)
  • A basic understanding of ADR regulations (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience in working within both general haulage and pallet network environments
