Pumpkinfest – Freight First spread Halloween joy
With Halloween just around the corner, last week we decided to spread some Halloween joy to some local Children last week.
We recently acquired hundreds of Pumpkins that one of our suppliers kindly donated, and wasted no time in ensuring that they went to good use.
After making a few phone calls to see who could benefit from some free Pumpkins, we loaded the truck and drove into the community to spread some Halloween joy.
Halton Lodge and Brookvale Children’s centres received over 40 pumpkins each, a few local nurseries and Aston by Sutton Primary School also received several each. All the pumpkins donated are going to be used by the Children to decorate and use just in time for Halloween.
“At Freight First we are always running charity events and helping good causes, and love to get involved in the community in any way that we can. So, when one of our clients asked us if we could do anything with a couple of hundred pumpkins, we jumped at the chance to help out” said Freight First Marketing Executive Stephen Barnard.
“At one of the School’s they had all the Children lined up to help unload the Pumpkins, so just to see the excitement on their faces makes it all worthwhile. We can’t wait to see some of their creations over the coming days”
On Tuesday 31st October we are also holding a Halloween fundraising day at our Halton based premises to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society where one member of our team is getting PIE’d and our customers are currently busy voting on who that unlucky employee will be.
