Runcorn based Haulage Company Freight First is holding a ‘Driver recruitment day’ at their Preston Brook based premises where they are hoping to recruit a number of HGV drivers for an immediate start.

The event will take place on Saturday 24th June from 9am to 1pm and any potential drivers will receive a free breakfast upon arrival.

Freight First was started by Managing Director, Simon Meredith back in 2000 with a single vehicle and a small office in Kingsley. The company has now moved to large premises in Runcorn and has a fleet of over 30 HGV vehicles. With plans to increase their fleet further, Freight First are looking for a number of reliable drivers to help them to continue with their rapid growth.

Simon Meredith, Managing Director of Freight First, said: “Having seen some real growth in recent months, we are hoping to recruit drivers with the right attitude and commitment that can help us continue to move our business forward. Holding a recruitment day will hopefully give us the chance to meet with potential drivers, have a chat and show them around. Successful drivers will be given a start date that same day.”

Freight First have a number of driver roles available for class 1 and class 2 drivers including full time, part time, days or nights.

Anyone wishing to attend the day is being asked to register their interest at  or email for more information.
